I'd say a PC.
I've owned both for awhile, and Macs are starting to appeal less to me due to the need for a VM. Also, it's trouble playing games on Steam which is a huge thing for me. If you're going to be a gamer, don't buy a Mac, you're limiting yourself greatly.
What will you be using it for mostly? Graphics or webdesign I say mac... If your getting it for personal use I say PC... It's really base on what your going to be using it for...
It depends what you are planning to do on it.
Macs are good if you have a big budget.
If you are on a small budget you can get a laptop with win7 for $300 or so.
I use both TBH and i love them both MAC is more for like internet browsing and writing PC is for photos like tools games stuff luck that i would get a PC
It depends what you want to do with it. If you need it for photo editing and design, Mac has very good programs for it. If you want to use it for gaming or basic stuff I think pc will be better.
*I hope I am not too late by making this post, but I have a great response for you.*
I use to be a Mac user, and when I made the switch it was probably the smartest thing I have done.
Apple computers are great for the typical user for it, but I know you and you are going to want to go with PC. This is because Windows lets you act more freely/do certain things Mac computers won't let you. The software Apple uses, is great but very different from Windows. If you want to get into coding or programming you would want a Windows computer because Mac's don't allow you to program in the more popular languages. Now it is possible to do this on Mac computers but a lot easier on PC's.
I can explain a lot more, but I all I am saying is that a PC would be a lot better for YOU for sure.
I would suggest a HP Pavilion 500 PC. It is an amazing computer and perfect for your budget.
if you are wanting a gaming pc get a desktop but if you want an editing computer get a mac i have a macbookpro and a asus desktop both are decent but if you have never used a mac before you will hate it just a heads up before u buy a mac bro it will piss you off and they get dirty as fuck if you get the silver macbook i would highly sugjest getting a windows desktop with a nvida graphicscard in it
