Luring

Luring was possibly the most fun thing to do in the wilderness.

Although it is looked down upon and is terrible to do to new players, it was funny at the time and got good money.

Did anyone else do this? If so, post your strategy.

My strategy.

1. Get a noob to follow you for free stuff.
2. Go to the edge of the wilderness.
3. Drop around 10k coins on the other side.
4. The noob will come running into the wilderness to get free money and you use ancients to freeze him.
5. DDS spec and continue to freeze while they scream.
6. Grab items.
7. Go to Lumbridge so you can see them (They will probably have not left the respawn area).
8. Laugh in their face and be obnoxious and rude.
9. Watch them flame you and threaten to report you.
10. Laugh and switch worlds.

This was so much fun at the time, but I feel bad because I probably made 20 people quit playing Runescape.

I see absolutely not reason why it's bad to do. If somebody is going to follow you into a place where he/she knows you can kill them, they are at fault for the "scam". Anyway, my method used to be

-Hey I can teach you how to hack accounts
-My and some friends are having a secret meeting in 'wildy;
-Want to come? Just don't tell anyone
*five minutes later*
-Insidious laughter, obscene nonsense typed between several characters.
-Profit.

What does the drop limit do?

I don't think I have ever played with that update.

They ruined the game trying to make it so that noobs don't get scammed.

Oh this was fun. I fell for it once when I was a damn noob. But good good fun. I loved telling people I'd take them to a GP spawn at level 20 wildy, then BOOM surprise buttsex.

i usually only followed that untill step 6 but it would be allot of fun to continue to step 10 i guess

I would do what pure did, or i would pick a fight with someone like 10 levels higher than me and my freinds and I would jump him. Can anyone say, Musik got over 10m doing this.

I don't think I have ever played with that update.

Any item worth over 3k (it might be 5, not sure) will not appear to another player.

Go to german world. Find people alching in fally. Was plenty of them, all the time. Not quite sure why.
Anywho, be on Lunars.

#1 Cast book swap, tele other them to fally. They accept.
#2 Repeat step one 5-6 times
#3 Don't book swap, tele to frost area in 56 wildy (beside the agil training area)
Since it is in german, there is a 50/50 chance they WILL fall for it.
#4 Tele and kill him. Get phat loots.


This was back when ppl used to alch naked with santas and shit.
Fun as hell.

Me and my friends were life ruiners, we would be-friend someone for around a month then get them to bring millions in items into the wild saying if he died we would get his loot, but we'd rape his ass and take it all. :angel:

I think people are smarter now and doubt they'd fall for this, but if it works... meh.
Best way is=
- to get your team @ barbs and make them camp there
-Go to Edgeville with a friend and pretend like you don't know each other
-Ask some random to team
-Then ask your "friend" to team as if you just met
-Take the ranom kid to Edgeville and pwn!

I used to lure on my low level mage twins.
Go into wild with rich noob.
Tell him to kill you because you want to go to Lumbridge, but show him full rune.
Lure into wild.
Twin pops out and snares.
Mage him down.
