Loadout is an, over-the-top shooter action. It's a free-to-play third person shooter (soon after it gets released for open beta.) Loadout's widely known for it's weapon crafting. Much like Borderlands where there are millions of weapon combinations to find/create. Want to make a weapon that shoots powerfully packed syringes of healing goo? Go ahead. Want to make a rocket launcher that shoots a corkscrewed hexarocket? Go ahead. The possibilities are endless.
The game is driven by a currency called Spacebux, with spacebux you can do multiple things like customize your players appearance with clothing and accessories, or buy weapon parts like suppressors and sights. After every match there is a spinner and with that spinner there is a random chance to win multiple things i.e. 150 Spacebux bonus, 300+ exp boost, etc.
Alike Call of Duty, there are 'challenges' but here, they are called Contracts. Some contracts are easy and others not so much. Upon completing a contract you receive a star based on how difficult the contract is, for example Get (X) kills on Four Points - 1 star. Capture the hammer (X) times - 2-3 stars.
Triple A gamer developers don't take risks because they don't know what the outcome will be. Loadout took that risk and succeeded tremendously.
My personal opinion on this game is everyone should try it. As soon as I picked the game up I knew this would be my favorite, there is so many things to do, yet the game has only been out for a few months. I would totally recommend everyone to buy this game it is worth the money, and if not - it comes out for open beta mid to late Summer.
