Like/Thanks?

Which plugin should I add to FK?

I have been thinking about this for a very long time, and finally decided to go threw with it. I just need help deciding which one to add. So vote in the poll and let me know what you think and possibly why you choose one over the other in a reply.

So those that don't know there is a like system and a thanks system in which you can thank or like other members post's. The like or thanks count you receive is also tracked and added up to display for everyone kind of like your post count.

The thank system seems pretty cool :)
See a bunch of like things on forums... never a thank one.

I voted for the like system because:

With the like system if you "Like" something in a thread or a post it will show your appreciation towards the post + you can "Like" a Joke too.
Also if someone comments a funny quote it wont sound weird "Liking" the post as it would "Thanking" it.

Keen to see the outcome, Good luck Philly deciding which will be installed.

LF has the "Thank" system. I wouldn't want FK to be the same as LF.

A like system would be fine. I don't like the thank system at all.
 
I'll also go with the like system, sounds a lot more clean then a thanks.
 
Hmm, I voted for thanks but then I read the other peoples reasons and they convinced me to want likes, but then I seen you can un vote :/
 
This would be great. i chose a like system.

I would also like a hide plugin. Something like LF.

Tell me more about this "hide" button? Is it just like the spoiler or does it just hide it from guests or...?

I would prefer the thank button, but I have a feeling that it would be much less used than the "like" button. So I'm going to go with the like button, mainly because it could be of more use. :)
 
Like system sounds good. That would be a nice change I also recommend the vouch system again:p I like how you could see how many vouches someone had when it was next to the post count instead of looking it up.

I think he means this.
To make people post on the thread to unlock what is on the thread inside of those tags, not sure if those are the exact tags but I'm sure you get what I mean.

I see well that is easy enough I am not sure how useful it is though?

It wouldn't be useful on this forum I don't think at all, there is barely ebooks or guides released here. ( What there usually used for )

Well it is like a spoiler but you have to post to view it. Once you post you may view the content.
 
I personally Like the thank system fits a forum better thank "like" like is more know for social sites.
 
Honestly i do not like either. This forum is unique unlike others, this forum bans scammers unlike others. 7s has a thank/like system. I wouldn't want our site considered to be like 7s.
 
My suggestion is you add in the plugin where a user must post to see what's inside the thread this will block guest and newcomers from accessing certain threads...
