They can, but they won't.

My guess is they will sue maybe 1 or 2 people, to make an example.

This.
They'll sue the worst people like people who botfarm like 200 LRC accounts, Hi Zach, just to scare people.
It's called scare tactics, the media does it all the time.

They can't sue us for botting. It won't hold up in U.S. Court. Especially under DMCA. If it were a U.S. company like Sony or something they would, but since they are U.K., U.S. courts wouldn't go for it. The only thing they could sue us for is violating Terms of Use and that isn't illegal in the United States. I could be slightly wrong, but they can't go overboard with it, plus if they sued me for $500 I wouldn't give a fuck. I would just find a way to counter sue them for more.

They can sue you for botting. If it's illegal in the UK, They can sue you under international laws. Since the US and the UK are BEST BUDDIES.

I asked my uncle about this, he is a US lawyer. They can sue you, in fact even if you are in another country. Also, as they stated you will be added to a previous lawsuit, which means odds are you will be charged for the amount they claimed on you without you, yourself personally representing you, as the company would be your representative. Also, you claiming "oh well they'd have to fly me over to California, and I live in another country, ahah gf jagex," No, you would have to pay for the expensive yourself up front if you are declared to be in a court. You not showing up will result in a re-hearing and possibly fines, continued absence will result in you loosing the case and possible further legal action against you. Now that does not mean I personally believe they will actually take down someone who just bots 1 or 2 accounts, but they do know what they're doing legally. Hope this helps someone.
