Hope to see you guys signing up soon if you like anime etc. ^_^

A forum advertised on FK that doesn't have a ripped theme, doesn't appear to be on free hosting, isn't a general forum, and doesn't appear to be begging for your money. :O

I like it, good luck with your forum.
Even if it's in a similar niche to my own.

0mg so Kawaii!!!!
I'll definitely be signing up for this!
Ya boy Madara bout to come through.

I really want to join... But I know nuttin' about anime :p

The forums seem nice. I really like the theme you have on there. Only problem I've have is that dropshadow/name color someone have ;_;

Yup, Dynaxel made the theme.
We run on three different servers: one for PHP, one for MySQL/MariaDB and another for MX/Mail.

RIP, we have a really tiny general section but yeah it's kinda a niche topic. :(

Nice, I contacted them recently to get a theme done; they seem to be one of the best for making really nice themes.

Not using HHVM? That's a paddling.
Nice to see you're using MariaDB though, I don't even know why MySQL is still the standard.

MyBB isn't optimized for HHVM. It actually runs slower than with basic PHP5-FPM.

Here's the results of a server running Debian x64 with Nginx and PHP5-FPM.

Code:
Generated in 35 ms (68.27% PHP / 31.73% MySQL)
SQL Queries: 25 / Server Load: 0.02 / Memory Usage: 2 MB

And with Nginx + HHVM:

Code:
Generated in 49 ms (42.00% PHP / 58.00% MySQL)
SQL Queries: 25 / Server Load: 0.14 / Memory Usage: 3.48 MB

This is mainly because MyBB still uses database caching as the default which is awful.

Of course... None of those tests take into account that my actual database is loaded into memory and we have a Varnish install helping greatly with the cache.

Nice, you've got a pretty awesome setup then. I've been using HHVM for a while now and didn't think to benchmark it with MyBB.
I have noticed that HHVM has pointed out that a lot of slow queries and am going to combat it with a Redis setup relatively soon.
I think you've proven yourself to be a decent admin and I hope your forum goes far. :D

I've been on this site for a while now, it's different than any other forum, I like it. More people should join : P

UID93 on that site and yours @cron

such a coincidence

Yeah the site runs very fast and smooth so far. Although with such a small database that is to be expected.

I did some calculations with a friend who owns a site with 8,000,000 posts and slowdowns are expected around the 50,000 post mark.

That's plently of time to upgrade the servers between now and then. The PHP server will go first I suspect.

Nice, it's not often that you see a webmaster that actually knows what they're talking about; I'm more for front-end dev/optimisations myself, but I'm slowly learning the terrifying ways of server management.
You should add me on Skype some time (ID: v.illainous), I'm intrigued by your forum and would like to talk more.
I'll still continue to bump your thread though :^)
Because I'm 99% sure it'll last longer than most of the sites here.
