Java OR PHP which one is better for future ?

PHP is a thousand times more important then Java. PHP is the #1 web-scripting language that can actually execute functions, unlike HTML, which is just a layout language. Without PHP, no forum would exist, Youtube = Wouldn't exist; nothing that requires advanced scripting would exist. Java is useless for things like that; the internet could survive without it's memory leaks. It's only good for making games and small miscellaneous things, like IRC plugins, and it can bearly even do that right.
Java is used in business apps with theit tapestry, struts and similar other framework. Most of the debit card and credit card companies use java for more easy operation. But i think this trend will change soon and php and ruby are likely to take over.

Kind of different in things in some aspects. I say Java. Java is now the thing being taught in schools first rather than C++. My first language I learned besides HTML was Java. It is a good bridge to higher programming languages as well as a strong programming language itself!

I think php is better for your future. You can do a lot of things with PHP. Sites like facebook are made in php. So you can imagine that it is a good language.
PHP is server-side, Java is also server-side, but requires a client-side program. Not all computer have Java, so PHP is the way to go IMO.
Java is starting to die it seems actually. But PHP can only be used command line and in web pages, you can't really make programs with it.
