I can see it happening, but like in my previous thread about this already... Gold sellers wouldn't out of business, because Jagex would NOT have competitive pricing; I'll tell you that much right now. Gold farmers have .6/m right now whereas Jagex would do probably $1/m if not more.
That would be unbelievable, but I just could not imagine it happening.

I reckon JaGex would charge something like $2/mil as many people who play RuneScape don't even know about the gold farming industry and would be willing to pay that amount. And also people may even be willing to pay that little bit extra for the added security.

It would cause SERIOUS inflation of the market.
I think it's a terrible idea if you ask me. Why? Just because it is. Where they disallow you to sell gold but now they might be doing it there selves? Hmm.

This is true. I've found myself detached from micro-transaction built games, very quickly. Being allowed to pay cash for your top-tier items and things is game-breaking, or being allowed to buy items that aren't able to be gotten without buying them for $$ is also game-breaking.

I'm not sure if jagex will do this, BUT I can see Jagex making a system where you can buy cards and redeem the card for game points of some type for special cool in-game outfits / in-game weapnos /etc. Some games out there have special items that look pretty freekin awesome.
