Jagex finally makes a move on phishers.

We are aware that some of our players have recently received a variety of phishing emails: emails claiming to be from Jagex or RuneScape which are designed to steal your log-in details. We understand this can be frustrating, and we can assure you we are working hard to stop the circulation of these emails and to take down the fraudulent websites linked to them.

In order to help you recognise these emails, we have set up a dedicated new thread - Phishing Email Player Warnings - on the RuneScape forums, which contains a short guide on how to check if an email is genuine or not. This thread also lists all known email phishing scams and will be regularly updated with details on any new emails we become aware of.

So yea basically they changed the email they send mails from, [Not hard to spoof..] But they finally did something. I was wondering when this was going to happen.

True, but it looks like they are gathering up information on the mass mailers, almost like they are waiting for the perfect time and then strike down on all of them.

I used to phish. Got 100m in like a week with a moderator application. People are really stupid to fall for these things.

On Topic- Jagex cant really do anything about this.World of Warcraft has the same problem, and if they cant fix it, Runescape can't.

Changing the email will do nothing. Anyone an send an email from any email address in the world. Even ones that dont exist.

Phishing is LITERALLY UNFIXABLE. Even if website phishing dies, people like me always got phishers like fake ddos programs to irritate the fuck out of people.

I only even started to fall from the first one I got, but then said fk it I will go to the website and go to account management to check this "ban." Turns out I had nothing, I get a few fishing emails a week now.

Hopefully I get taught about keylogging by Rachet I have not been on lately!!
Because phishing is being kept an eye on.
