I download music off youtube. I mean the type of music that is not on itunes and cannot find anywhere else. You know the type of songs I'm on about the type of ones which very few people have heard.
 
Exactly like what Knight say's but also as long as your not selling it to people also. I mean just don't get caught, or flaunt around as Knight says... heh
 
If it was truly a major crime that the cops were busting people up for, I'm pretty sure most of the people you might know (I know most of the people that I know) wouldn't even be there to know you, they'd be paying fines or be behind bars. It's no big deal.

then you get a slap on the wrist, a somewhat hefty fine, and all your pirated music confiscated, and then your back to downloading music again and life's better and the music industry moves on to milk more wallets
 
If the music isnt licensed then it's not illegal. Are you talking about remixed music and homemade music?

I'm sure the police won't bust you for a song 10 people in the world have heard.
 
I live in Canada and here it doesn't really matter. We pirate shitloads.

It is illegal, just make sure you don't get caught. There are millions of people that torrent music, movie's and games each day so, don't sweat it too much.
 
I think as long as it's a remix or something, then it's not illegal. As many people give out their remixes and home made music all the time everywhere on the net. Not just Youtube.

Soundcloud for example, people make whatever they want, then share it. You can download their songs as well.
 
No one really give a shit if you download music.
Youtube might mute you if you put new music on your videos, or popular songs lol.
 
Illegality has nothing to do with whether or not you should do it ;).
