In all facts, no. A pea pod in and of itself is considered a fruit, a pea is a seed. But in order to understand this better what really defines a fruit or a vegetable? Well, according to websites such as wikipedia and several dictionaries, such as websters,I have been able to pin point that the definition of a vegetable is "a edible part of a plant". Examples would be tea leaves are, well, leaves, and broccoli is a stem and bamboo is a branch.
So if that is a vegetable, than what is a fruit? Well, a fruit is defined as "a edible plant that carries seeds". Examples of this would be Bananas, Apples, Bell peppers, Cucumbers and Tomatoes. even if the latter three are used as vegetables.
But what about corn? Well, corn is a grain, also, it is a seed, as it comes off of the cob. also, it is a plant cultivated by man, as corn cannot grow on its own as the seeds are in contest with each other for nutrients. So without man interaction, all corn will die off.
So that's about it, any questions or comments?
