Interships/Jobs

Recently I have been searching around for internships, student jobs, or even jobs for people with an associate's degree in electrical engineering (sometimes referred to as an "Engineering Tech"). I guess it is harder to find this in my area than I first though. I really want to do work that applies to my field of study over the summer. I need it to be relatively close though, so somewhere in southern Virginia or northern North Carolina.

If anyone wants to help me out that would be awesome. :)

Anyone else have similar problems?

As a high school student the only job I can probably get right now would be fast food.
I don't plan on flipping burgers for $7 an hour.

Actually you would be surprised what you can do. I started working when I was in middle school as a soccer referee. Yes you have to take a class to get certified which costs a little bit of money and the uniform and other stuff costs money as well. But the pay is pretty good. Just doing the line you can make $30+ per game and the game will probably be about 60 to 90 minutes long. If you do the center you get paid more. Also, if you are on the way to the game or you get there and the game is canceled for any reason then you still get paid. It is very easy to do 4 games and make over $100 in one day.

Refereeing is the reason I haven't had to take out a single loan yet for college.

Fuck jobs. I've made more off RS in a week than some of my teachers have made in a week.

You could run a lemonade stand and make more money than most teachers.

You from Virginia? You like the show Buckwild?

Does your major require an internship? At my college, mine does. They have a lot of job fairs here to help people with getting internships and such. You pretty much get dressed up and go there with your Resume and talk to a variety of companies and give them your contact information. I would say that would be your best bet. That is how my brother got his first internship and he is still at that same company with a salary pay.
