I don't see how the word EW can be trademarked by a company. If I had the Instagram "EntertainmentWeekly" then I could see it immediately getting taken away from me.

LOL some companies just do not care about user names, versace is owned by a friend of mine :p. look at @shots it was trademarked by justin bieber.

Not all the time. Some companies are just too dumb to contact Instagram.
I sold @8z to some real estate company who owns 8z.com so they obviously had the trademark

Yet again it all depends on the company lol. IF op obviously means by what his saying, he can contact the company himself and get ''big $$'' right? i just hate sayings that boost up the sales, because some dump buyers are going to this IG because a ''company'' might buy it.
