Infections

Hi,

Do you deem Windows to be a little 'unsecure'? In my opinion, Window isn't very secure. I mean, you buy a new laptop/computer with the OS preinstalled, you get all this 'wonderful (rubbish)' software, and you get Security Software that simply doesn't work, normally it's Mcafee with a 30 day trial, I mean, what good is that?

It's pretty sad the amount of software you need to add-on to Windows to make it secure, where as you can boot up Linux for example and you don't need to spend loads of money making it secure with decent software, since Linux is pretty much immune to infections.

/discuss - Do you think Windows is unsecure / gets easily infected?

I think windows is so secure operating system.lot's of users doing many transaction over this operating system though they have no complain about this.

I'm guessing you're not very familiar with Windows' PC's in that case. Rest assured, they have PLENTY of viruses, trojans, worms, rats, etc around. Increasing by the day.

You don't know that you don't have any viruses at all, I'm pretty confident if you scanned away with several different tools, you'd find some form of infection. Malware Bytes Anti Malware is pretty good for searching out infections. Scan with that, and you'll most likely find something.

this is because windows OS is mostly used by user in the world. so they many person that try to finding the windows OS security hole. mean while Linux and other system also have many security hole, but no one interested to hack it. cause no so many person using it as desktop.

there no OS that 100% secure bro.

using many security scan tools can be reported each other as virus. this happens a lot in my past experience. as you know the security tools also don't 100% safe, they need to update every time and on.

sometime they launch the update file with wrong identification, that make windows OS crash.

Buying a software loaded Machine that comes from Microsoft isn't a good idea. It's nothing but a waste of money. Here is what one should do.

For example:

A machine with OS and Software: 800$
A machine without OS and Software: 500$

Now, how about a machine that is worth 800$ without any OS and software installed in it? In configuration it will be much better than the one you will buy for 800$ with software and OS pre-installed.

You can later on install an OS in it using a pirated version of OS, do some work around and make it genuine, much cheaper in a legal way from different stores etc. Same goes for the other softwares. You can even get those software for free, from the Internet.

As far as the security is concerned, that too can be handled using free software. You can get the 30 days trial version of ESET NOD32, and can get the license keys for 1 year and 2 years, depending on the source you are receiving the key from.

Windows 7 has windows security application and additional anti virus on your part will totally help to protect your PC.

you need a good anti-virus like nod32 otherwise you will get plenty of virus. if you get a bad virus there is always system restore, so make sure you have this set to automatically make them. then you will be alright

I think it is secure, but most people use Windows that's the reason why most of the viruses are made for Windows. If you would make a virus for Linux for example you would only infect 1/1000 instead of 200/1000 because Windows is the most used one.
