Get some clean (Scotch, etc.) tape and place it on the mentioned area. About an inch or so is good.
Now cut down some of the tape. You don't want any to touch the gray rubber otherwise the tape can irritate your ears.
Listen to your music and hear the difference. If your ears hurt, you can use some soft electrical tape and put that over the Scotch tape. Make sure not to damage the actual headphones!
A very nice and fantastic trick you shared here in your thread I was looking for it. I will now be able to enjoy the music voice in a much better way.
 
I recommend all to NOT do this. Your ears can get damaged badly if it's goes wrong.
You shoulden't do this if you have no knowledge about technic.

Or Beats by Dr. Dre. Those headphones are absolutely brilliant; it's just way too overpriced. I mean, it costs $200 (About same price as an iPod Touch) for earphones! That's crazy!
