This is simple and works a ton.
You may have noticed small holes around the outside of your earphones, opposite of where you put them in your ears. Sound consistently escapes through these, making your music sound quieter and less detailed.
Let me know if this has worked for you. It has saved me the trouble of covering my ear while listening to music on my way to school.

- Get some clean (Scotch, etc.) tape and place it on the mentioned area. About an inch or so is good.
- Now cut down some of the tape. You don't want any to touch the gray rubber otherwise the tape can irritate your ears.
- Listen to your music and hear the difference. If your ears hurt, you can use some soft electrical tape and put that over the Scotch tape. Make sure not to damage the actual headphones!
