I have two questions regarding buying a tag.

1.) If I bought a tag, changed the name of that tag, and put it on a fresh silver, would I be at risk of it being hacked? I've heard of people buying GT's then getting it hacked a couple days later.

2.) How much would a random 3 character tag cost? I would prefer a tag with a number in the middle with two letters. (I.E. V9X, F8E, etc.)

Sorry if I sound like a noob, I'm new to this whole GT market I guess you would call it. All responses are appreciated.

1. Gamertags get hacked seldom, in fact I'm pretty sure its nearly impossible to hack someone's gamertag from scratch. However I would advise against switching a gamertag onto a silver account because can turbo the tag and take it from you.

2. Around 60, price can increase if its on a good account.

Thanks for the response. Do you know anyone on here who has a 3 character account? I don't know why I like them so much.. I might try to buy one eventually.

I have one. But its on a main account so I'm not sure if I would even sell it. I believe @Crack has one as well, not sure though.

1. The bigger risk would it being turbo'd, but that can be avoided if you use common sense.
2. 3 characters usually go for around 50-60 nowadays.

1. Successfully swapping the tag to a silver will basically give you full ownership of the tag with no risks of it getting taken back. But do so at a smart time since people turbo.
2. They are worth from $50-$60 average depending on how good it looks and if it has any meaning.

I'm just going to answer your first question since the second has been answered by multiple people.

When you buy a tag, it's safer to keep the tag on the account for a few weeks to avoid any turboers that just saw your tag fresh in the market and will try and steal it. You're not going to get hacked from switching it over to another account. Xbox security isn't the best in the world but it's been improved majorly. You're more likely to be extorted than hacked.
