Not necessarily....For example, creating an account 9 years ago and not have GOLD or only applies 12 Months of XBLive only, does not make it a "9 Year Tenure".

Yes you get a water mark for every year it has has gold. The current max is 11 years and its pretty rare.

You can just call them and they'll tell you but if it's not what it's supposed to be they might reset you or something, I'm not sure.
