How to get around school filtering.

This is how it works at my school.

Basically, we have this filter called ' LightSpeed', and it filters out the website on normal view.

The way me and my friend's looped around it was to change the website to "https://www.website.com"
If that doesn't work, I would try,
"https://www.camolist.com"
That website has a lot of proxies, and they switch servers, so my school can never block them.

Just decided to post this as me and my friends figured this out last week.

Cheers.

Well sadly my tech guy setup a filter screen and it stops https... Haha so it won't work for everyone.

Use an encoded url, most school filters block by URL's, if you encode the url, it might work.

Not smart schools, they block IPs and some even block the meta tags.

I generally just use a proxy based browser I downloaded on my iPod.

My school blocks camolist, and the new proxies are blocked within a few days.

I'll try it out. But yeah my school is pretty efficient with their blocking too.

It doesnt work for my school either, plus dont all schools have a administering computer that will just look at ur screen and block it from there.
ex. one time i was playing games and my mouse went all wacky and started typing the school website so i tried to go back and chat thing popped up and said "trying to give you a hint"
i was like LOL and wrote Fuckyou on microsoft word

That might be whoever your computer teacher is, I used to have something like this that my computer teacher could monitor what websites we were on.

Yeah my school blocks meta tags and IPs :/

My school has ABTutor where they can watch your screen, remote shut-down etc, basically a RAT.

But the council control's whats blocked, and like, everything is -_-

Same, but I got around that. I noticed if you have a window on a transparency below 100% but above 0% it the whole screen shows up black on the RAT. What I did was have a 1x1 pixel program made in vb06 and have it 20% transparent, boom.

Not sure if it works on other types of programs.

We use lanschool, the teachers can monitor/control everyone's computers, as well as blank our screens, broadcast theirs, disable internet, etc.

Command prompt is blocked, so I just opened Turing, typed this:
set /p c=
%c%
pause

Saved it as ff.bat, ran it, and I now had access to cmd. =)

So I just typed:
net user

It showed all user accounts on the computer, "Administrator" was one of them.

Then:
net user Administrator *

Typed the new pass I wanted, logged in, now I'm off the network, they can't see me, and I don't get banned for downloading anything, since I'm off the network and they can't see me. =P

I then googled "u1008.exe", it's the executable for a program called Ultrasurf, basically a program that connects you to proxies. There's no other way around our web filtering, so I had to use that.

It doesn't save cookies or history, too, so they can't check what I'm on. I'll usually disable scripting, too, unless I'm playing a game that needs it on.

If I want to get back on the network without them seeing me, I just log back onto my account, open that ff.bat, and type:
tskill Student

The lanschool process is now disabled, and they can't see me. =P

Oh, and since we're running version 6.5 of Lanschool, not the newest version, I can download a program called "Lanschooled" and fuck with everyone and acat like a teacher. It's quite fun. ;)

I can also switch the background of all student computers, shut down all computers, and do a lot of other things.

Yea same here, but I wonder why he would write Fuck you because they know who he is.

How I get around school filtering:

I haz no filter, homeschooled ftwz.

https will work for youtube but not much else. Also, lightspeed has a function to block Google cached pages but the sysadmin does not often enable it and it is worth checking.

So easy set your computer at home to accept remote Access and just surf the web on through your school computer bam no firewalls!
