How to Flash your Xbox 360 DVD Drive​

What you need:

• Xbox 360
• Torx-10 Screwdriver
• Small Centimeter Wedge
• Compatible Motherboard SATA Chipset or a PCI VIA6421A Card
• SATA Cable
• Connectivity Kit v3
• JungleFlasher

For the sake of time, this will be a general tutorial and the rest is up for you to read the Manual provided by JungleFlasher.


Tutorial:

Step 1: Open up the Xbox with the Wedge and Torx Screwdriver. Use this guide is you get stuck. Disassemble the Xbox 360


Step 2: Lift the Drive out of the case and disconnect the Power and SATA Cable.


Step 3: Connect the drive to your PC via the PCI Card (VIA6421A) or your compatible onboard ports.


Step 4: Open JungleFlasher on your PC making sure you click Run as Administrator.

Step 5: Follow the JungleFlasher tutorial found here, it is very comprehensive and everything you need to know is in there.

Step 6: When done flashing, make sure you keep a backup of your firmware and save it somewhere.


Step 7: Reassemble your Xbox and make sure you keep the Warranty Sticker somewhere.

Flashing your xbox 360 hard drive enables you to play burned discs. That's basically what most people do it for. I knew of people that had Gears of War 2 about a month before it came out.
