PREFACE: I prefer to use Notepad++ instead of Notepad, but it's up to you.

Notepad++

1. Open up your text editor. Make sure to run as admin.

2. Press Control + O or you can use the Open... function.

3. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc NOTE: if you're using Notepad++, you'll need to paste that into the address bar.

4. Once in etc, open the file called "hosts."

5. Make your edits and save the file!

You're done!

nice quick easy tut m8 and notpad++ FTW its epic for moding game config files ;)

I know its kinda off topic, but Notepad++ is probably one of the best all round free pieces of software you can get.
It does syntax highlighting and is used every where from creating websites to like deadly said, game file editing.
Best of all where some standard notepad saves can destroy file formatting which means they wont work, notepad++ keeps everything perfect.

Thanks for the feedback deadly!

And yes you're right, Bleepy. If you use Notepad or TextEdit between Mac and PC and you have used the "Enter or Return" key, then everything will be on one line whereas with N++, formatting is kept.
