How to determine if a GT is really banned.

I've been seeing a lot of people try to scam members with banned tags. Follow these steps before buying a GT to avoid getting scammed with a banned tag.

1. Send a message from your account to the account your buying.
2. Have the person tell you what you sent, because banned tags can't read messages on Xbox.com or Tinker.

Use the next step as last resort.
3. If they have it on there Xbox have them change the gamer picture if possible it means its not banned also. Just make sure they aren't the tinker gamer pictures. People can download banned tags to Tinker but can only select the ones below.

Invalid proof from a banned tag.

1. If they add you it doesn't mean anything banned tags can add people still from the normal Xbox.com.
2. If it doesn't show code of conduct in the profile, it doesn't mean its not banned either. People simply can go on Xbox.com from there cell phone and at the bottom you press the mobile version of Xbox.com Log in to the banned account and from there you can edit your bio etc to hide the Code of conduct. They can also download the banned profile to Tinker and change the bio etc on the banned tag.
3. If they send you a message this doesn't mean its not banned either. They simply can follow the steps in #2 and if the banned tag has Gold they can message you from the banned tag from mobile version.

Nice thread you got here, should help prevent some scams. Btw, I have a question. Arent you able you change the gamerpicture via Tinker?

No you aren't allowed to download a banned tag to tinker. You get a status code error on PC when you try.
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.
 
This post here should earn a sticky. Very informative, not alot of members know that you can send messages from banned tags (Including me, about 30 seconds ago.) Good shit FeaR

You sir are WRONG. You can change the gamerpicture to any of the default gamerpictures associated with Tinker and there is also a handful of gamerpics to use on it.

So you can download a banned tag to tinker ? Ill try it when I get home I didn't think it was possible.
