I'm just curious.

How is exactly is it that you check an gamertag's history and how secure it is?

Uhh what exactally are you asking? Kinda confused. You cannot check a gamertags history. And you cannot check how secure it is without access. If it has no alts or phone number attached to the account then it is not secured

You can't check how secure a gamertag is but you can check what games and the date they played them on a gamertag if the persons doesn't have privacy settings on xboxgamertag.com

Well, you can't exactly check the gamertags history but usually if someone posts a gamertag that has bad history someone will post saying so.

If you read this thread you can learn how to secure gamertags properly so you have a better chance of keeping them. Whenever you buy a gamertag ALWAYS make sure you remove the alternate emails or phone numbers on the account. From there you can add your own and be set to go.

Even if you remove all alts and phone numbers etc. If the person knows the previous 4 passwords they can just fill out a hotmail.com email recovery and get access to it right after they sell it. Best thing to do is when you are purchasing a account that you can not change the email on. As soon as you gain access to the account I would remove all alts etc and add your own. Change the password 5 times. Then go on hotmail.com and fill out 2 recovery forms with random info as fast as you can. I say 2 of them because that's the max you can do in 24 hours. This will prevent the seller from trying to fill one out and by time the 24 hours is up the new set of passwords will be filtered through.

You should do this every time regardless of who you buy from ( Trust no one ) and this will seal your deal of owning the tag.
Unless of course they open a UA on it.

Wow, you definitely know your stuff!

Should I be worried at all if I'm interested in purchasing a gamertag that has a bad history?

The only reason to not buy a gamertag is if it has been turboed.
as you'll most likely lose it and get a ton of shit in the process.
