How do people get tag when they reset?

Like How do people know when to change/ make the gamertag? How do they know they got reset? Do they just try every do or turbo it?

Most people just send F/R's to the v1 account, once it disappears, that usually means the tag got reset or in Limbo.

Gamertag checkers, I would assume.

For example, Say i had the GT G o d (Obv doesn't exist) and God was a V1. everyday i would check God and if one day it said it wasn't taken, That would mean it got reset, Then you change to non spaced version, But you can't swap straight from G o d to God, You have to swap to God123 then to God, Because since your on the spaced, It still registers as you having the tag, So you have to change it to something random, Then to the OG non spaced version.
