4GB of ram is enough..

If I were you I would just buy a good laptop. Most laptops these days have as much or more power than desktops.

Especially for a desktop, that isn't good, current pcs should have at least 3.2 get depending on what you use it for. For gaming, not a chance, but for regular browsing, that's fine
