Hip Hop is DEAD

Hip Hop will never be dead, it's just going downhill.

Yeah, you're right. But when I said hip hop is dead, I was referring to this song and how songs like these are killing Hip Hop.

Of course there are songs that keep/are keeping hip hop alive.

No you're right "hip-hop" in it's true form is dead. It died a while ago.

What these kids are brainwashed by nowadays is not "hip-hop" it's money. The industry is creating songs that you will play over and over at clubs and parties. It's all about the beat and no lyrical content.

Back in then 90s DMX had a quote which read, "Fuck a beat, listen to the words in the damn song." Hip hop was created as a form of expression and to spread positive vibes for a good cause. It's poetry. They didnt care about money, because back then it really wasn't that big of an industry. We are so far gone that you will never know what true hip hop was. I was lucky enough to catch the end of it in the 90s.

This precisely. Basically, DJ Mustard killed hip hop.

I only listen to Russian Rap, and honestly It's not changed at all. lol

There was shitty music then, there is shitty music now. That's just how it goes. Music is one of the greatest releases of oneself, and different styles cater to different people. Get over yourselves.

Absolutely disagree with this topic/statement. Sure, most of the new artists aren't great, but the few ones that are great, stand out and make up for it, in my opinion. There are still plenty of rappers that have a genuine old school vibe to their flow. You just need to dig deeper, and you will truly find that with all of these little known artists getting mainstream, hip-hop will never be dead. Don't be ignorant to the fact, just expand your horizons.
