As there are limited resources to bot with, and the legal proceedings are hardly worth the risk, so, have you stopped botting?

Nope, would be stupid to atm.

Don't forget how risky it is at the moment too.

Is Jagex suing its players? If so, what gives?

Yes, Jagex is suing certain players who choose to disregard the terms, conditions and agreements entered into by them and continue to use bots, but it is also offering them a one-time amnesty. Jagex filed a lawsuit in the Central District of California in 2011, against unnamed persons (the technical terms is ‘John Does’, like in CSI!) who were themselves botting in RuneScape. These are the people playing RuneScape who are using third party software to bot, unlawfully getting round our technological measures designed to stop bots, and breaching our terms and conditions and the longstanding rules of RuneScape. Jagex received Court permission to ask PayPal for enough data to identify these people.

I have never botted in my life before. I am not planning on doing it now, especially with all the risks.

Bot Safely, few hours a day, while watching it.

Oh I haven't botted in weeks lol.

>Implying JaGeX can do anything other then ban botters.

The only way jagex can pursue legal action is if you are caught with payment logs for a botting client or script or other TPA that breaches there ToS and they still can't do anything because there legal offices aren't in the US and all pertain to a game.

That's just a scare tactic and is in fact nothing to be afraid of. I could sue you for literally anything, it doesn't mean that I'm going to win in court. Even if they did want to come and sue me, I read somewhere that they would sue you for a maximum of $2400 per instance of botting (I've only been caught once). They would spend more flying their lawyers out here and paying them than they'd actually get for suing me. Not to mention that I don't fall under California's jurisdiction where the lawsuit was filed anyways.

EDIT: I suppose it doesn't matter anyways. There are no real reliable bots right now. You could argue that RiD is up and reliable, but they make you keep repurchasing credits, so they can eat a dick.

This ^
Plus i'm a few thousand kilometers away. All my accounts are 100% botted, with several stats on different accounts being 90+. The only thing they could do would be to ban/rollback accounts. Buuuut I can't be bothered botting until another bot like RSBuddy comes out.

I'm going to admit, I don't think I'll be botting on RuneScape for a very long time after reading their posts. hah.

Very good point, thanks for the input.

This is a tad bit off topic, but that's a pretty sick avatar.

I consider you lucky then, just don't bot anymore on that precious account. :wreck:

Haven't trained shit since the 25th of February. Too lazy and not worth my time anymore.
