I kind of figured it would happen. Cortana had to sacrifice herself to save Chief. Had that not happened, I doubt they would've been able to rebuild her,.

I was sorta like that too, after ODST I had little hopes for campaign, but Halo 4 was a huge improvement, until they fucked it up in the end.

Many bricks will be shat if they do that. I was actually thinking the same thing. If anything, they will probably do it in Halo 6. I think a great ending would be two of them, if cortana became human, would be to get married. Imho, a great ending for the Halo games.

Cortana and Master Chief getting married? No, jus-, just no. I would very disappointed, terrible ending. In the last Halo, Master Chief should die heroically and defeat his enemies and save Earth or something, perchance with a unexpected twist, too.

@OP I am pretty sure this will not be the case in the next halo, there will be a return somehow, as there was no confirmation so and so died, so and so simply got lost in space as I recall. 343 knows that if they don't they would have a lot of angry customers.
