This is to everyone.
Some of you want the Grammar Nazi award, some of you may already have it.


It is not "^^^is true."
It should be "The above post is true." The correct use of "^" is something like 2^2.

When writing number (I am especially guilty of this) when the number is zero to ninc (0-9) it should be written in word form.
Example of incorrect: There are 5 carrots in the basket.
Example of correct: There are five carrots in the basket.

You can not mix either, so say one number is larger than nine and others are smaller, always use the number format.
Example of incorrect: There were two apples before john ate 30 of them.
Example of correct: There were 2 apples before john ate 30 of them.

I know some of spelling may be off. I am using my shitty Black Berry Pearl.

You should be able to understand why people write "^^^is true." instead of the grammatically correct version - it's easy! People do it because it's convenient and a lot easier to write instead of applying brain power and having to work out more correct way of writing. This doesn't make them any less equal to you, I can be the first to admit that I use such terms, in my post http://marketforums.org/Thread-Nice-Work?pid=26845#pid26845 Zammy corrected my spelling because I misspelled a word but I didn't care, even I have the GN award, I can't always be perfect. In this case I accidentally misspelled it because one of my hands was jerking and in my pitch black room I couldn't see half of the keys on the keyboard. You shouldn't make threads like this whilst instead be able to accept the fact that some people use incorrect grammar based on the governing attractions (such as setting, mood, etc) that they are under. Most who miscommunicate are fully aware of their mistakes but they just don't care enough to fix it and that is fine because IRL they're probably aware enough not to repeat the mistakes they made on MF.

I'm a PRO correct communication guy, this doesn't mean grammatically incorrect, convenient phrases annoy me (other than L337 SP3AK and those kinds of shit).

But honestly, your post (OP whose name I can't type), wasn't really a rant. It was a set of tips for improving people's grammar.

That was a very interesting read. Even though it said "Here are ten reasons why English is actually ONE OF the hardest languages in the world.".

I guess it does come natural to me too, since I actually was kind of raised with it. When I was young, my parents used SAP in my TV, and I didn't know how to turn it off. So I ended up watching my cartoons in English. :dodgy:
