I don't read books much. But I would recommend "Night" by Elie Wiesel that's about the author's experience in the holocaust and Nazi Death amCamps. And I would also read the "Series of unfortunate events.
This may not be your type of thing but you should look up the two Niccolo Machiavelli books "The Prince" and "Art of War", not to be mistaken with Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" which is also an amazing book.
Haha this made me laugh, everyone I work with just thinks I'm some joker who only reads the sport pages in the newspaper. Then when I invite them to my house after a night of drinking or something they are always surprised to see the amount of books on my book shelf and the type of books I read.
