Well, it's made official, I'm joining the Army National Guard in less than 2 weeks due to i'll be turning 17 on May 6. The reason i'm joining the National guard is because i'll be military police until end of college year. I will get to go to ASU for free along with ROTC. I will get paid to go to school and when i'm done with college, I'll be transfering into the Army Rangers. Very excited about my future. I've been Bullshitted by 6 recruiters so far but finally found one that isn't bsing me cause i'm at a young age.

Nice to see you joining.
I think that it's a great choice and that they offer a lot of great opportunities.
I almost joined up with the Navy, as a linguist. However, I decided that it wasn't for me.
Last semester in college, I was a part of the Air Force ROTC and it was a really awesome time.
While the work was hard, it brought about a sense of pride. I learned a lot of valuable things from it.

Before you sign anything, make sure everything they say you will get is in writing.

They will try to fuck you, but get it in writing and you will be fine.

Everything will be in writing and i'll have a lawyer or what ever to read it over as well before I sign it. I'm in JAROTC at the moment so i'll go into Army as a E2 instead as a E1.

You should really think about going to college first. You can be enlisted and still go to college, instead of going to basic, you just enroll in ROTC and your rank becomes a cadet rather than an E2. You do 4 years of ROTC which is pretty much just like JROTC except a lot more is expected of you. The PT is pretty rigorous, however, when you graduate College, you'll be commissioned as an officer which is amazing!

Have you already been to MEPS?

That's what I'm doing phreak. I'm going to national guard and my job is only 1 weekend a month. They will pay me to go to college at the same time if I join ROTC.

Yeah, you have to go to drill, right? I had a lot of friends that did that and almost did that myself.

Yes. I will do both army job and ROTC/college. Plus I get paid to go to college. I will graduate as a E6 when I leave college and join the Rangers.

You should graduate as higher than an E6 as that isn't a commissioned officer. If you do ROTC the entire 4 years, you should commission as a 2nd Lieutenant.

I havn't talked to him about that yet but from what my JAROTC Instructor told me, I'll be a E6. But he's a Air force douchebag. He hates every other branch and think AF is all that. Kinda how the Marines are. I'm going to see my recruiter this friday and saturday as well to talk more and this question will be answered again.

I'm pretty sure they will tell you what I did.
An E6 is an enlisted officer. They aren't commissioned. If you graduate from college and you were in the ROTC program, you commission, or can choose to commission.

I'm going into airborne school and Ranger school after college so higher rank is a must.

I spent a year in ROTC and we were educated a ton on military background.
Also, almost all of my family members, including my dad, are active duty in a branch.
I spent a lot of time researching to see if it was for me, so I know quite a bit.

Well, i'm going soon and thank you for the info you have shared with me even though i'm doing everything you said. I still thank you since you know what you're talking about. You know you're shit unlike most people and i've learned since second grade actually. I thank you mate.
