Is there a secret on how to get first hit? I hate it when I don't.
Everyone seems to have their own method on how to get first hit, most of which never seem to work. Just the other day I stumbled across a method that will help you always beat your opponent to first hit or tie them to it.
Before the duel begins, the countdown goes "3, 2, 1, FIGHT!!!" - just for reference because this might seem confusing, although you should know what I'm talking about.
Most people tend to think that you should click about halfway before
1 goes to
FIGHT!!!. It worked for me back in 07, but I've found that it doesn't work anymore. I was having troubles so I asked someone who was constantly beating me to first hit how exactly he was doing it. After being up on me about 20m, he agreed to lend a helping hand. He told me to click the INSTANT before
2 goes to
1. I tried it, and despite turning to face each other at the exact same time, I got a message like this: "
you cannot attack your opponent before the duel begins" or something like that. Despite turning at the same time and me getting an error message, he hit me, and was almost able to get two hits on me before auto retaliate finally kicked in. What a piss off.
I was ready to rage irl.
We did a bunch of friendly duels, and each time I would wait for slightly more time to pass before clicking my opponent. Ex: he said to click the INSTANT before
2 turned to
1, and I began clicking as
1 was above our heads. Each duel we had I began clicking later and later, which was really only
milliseconds difference each time. Eventually, I found a sort of "
sweet spot" and I beat HIM to first hit (which was amazing because he was the fastest person at getting first hit I've seen since unlimited staking was re-released this month). Once I found this "
sweet spot", the worst I could do was tie him for first hit
. I think everyone has a different "
sweet spot" based on your ping/latency or whatever to the server. I stake mostly on world 22, so if I ever change worlds I would probably do some friendlies to figure out where my sweet spot was for that world. I guess where your
sweet spot is depends on the speed of your connection to the server, if that makes sense
Hope that helps. :cool2:
