General thoughts about REP

Okay before you all bomb me with your neg reps because I made a thread with the letters R E P in the title just hear me out.

When I see a member with a lot of negaive reputation on their profile I think that this guy have probably done something bad to deserve it, right? Well if I look into that members profile and then inbetween that red stuff I see a few possetive ones that say: "combo breaker" or "some green between the red" or something like that. What I can't understand is what is the point of doing this? The negative reputation is probably there to protect future users from dealing with the neged user.

I really have a hard time seeing why someone erase someone elses work, now this probably is a bad metafor but you see where I am going with this post.

They usually made a rookie mistake in order to receive that. Its all about how you come out (no homo). If you come out like a dick nobody will like you resulting in a neg bomb, but if you come out as a chill person who is fun to talk to and not always a dick you will develop friends or partners who will positive rep you. You just gotta present yourself in a positive manner and try to make friends thats all.

Forum reputation is generally meaningless. In my eyes, reputation points facilitate competition between users more than anything. If you're looking for credibility on a website I suggest creating a kick-ass vouch page! It speaks far more to who you are and what you are like as both a general user and merchant.
