Well according to the thread that I am quoting you are looking at close to $20 for each year. If Brenton and Chill both say so then I will take their word for it

Very true, it also really only applies when an account has over 5 years of tenure and if it has extra such as "DLC live etc". Not many ppl will pay the extra money for an account with a two or three year tenure on it and no dlc or live.
