Gamertag reset rumors

There has been a rumor going around for a long while now about inactive gamertags getting reset/released. So I finally took it upon myself to figure out if this is true or not, but unfortunately it is not :( I contacted Microsoft on the support chat and asked if they will be releasing gamertags, and he said they cannot do that simply because of the terms of service. So if there is a gamertag you want then you will have to find a way to get ahold of it. I do have pictures of the chat but they are on my phone and I don't know how to upload them on here.

I'm pretty sure this has been known for awhile.

Yes but some people was unsure about it so I decide to take it upon myself to find out for anyone that was unsure

There has been gamertag reset rumors since like 2009 lol, there always rumors.

I just wish they made it so that if a Gt is inactive for over a year then it would automatically reset itself.

There is never going to be another reset, every now and then certain ones are reset. Other than that there won't be.

Na I highly doubt they'll ever be another. Unless they keeping it secret ;)

You don't know what xbox will do they could reset all inactive old tags they could never realize another one. You just don't know, and no one will know unless you are apart of that team that handles that stuff.

There are resets everyday, they are just random tags sometimes. There just won't ever be a mass reset again.

I think the gamertags,

God, skrillex, yellow, and oatmeal
Got reset today.

There will never be another large gamertag reset.Just random tags that get reset daily.

Resetting banned tags would be helpful. I don't see how that does anything but benifit Microsoft and the community together.

Why would they want to benefit a community making money from selling there accounts?

Ganertags reset after being inactive for 5-10 years without XBL Gold membership or logins.

Because they get paid more, with the more Live and dlc and shit bought. Every account is a profit to them. And then we're happy with our tags.

you asked a tier 1 agent who knows less than half of this forum. This does not help xD many of the agents don't even know about the first reset
