Game cheating

Just a random thought that came to my mind while talking to a friend when he asked me "is there a money cheat on Skyrim?".
I said "yes there is, but don't do it, it will take the fun out, cheat when you complete the game".

So guys, do you use cheat on games? I only cheat on games if there are any, and only after I beat the game. For example, in GTA IV I didn't use any cheat until I actually completed it to 100% (kill all seagulls, side missions, etc).

I used to like RS until I got into the staking, dicing and hacking scene. It's not really cheating, but it's the same concept. So yeah, I agree cheating ruins it.

I didn't really mean RS, just general games, any game. But yeah, I bot on RS because you can't really finish the game.

I know, I was just giving an example. ;)

I usually have another save file for my infinite cheats and h4x.

For GTA if you don't have a separate file for cheats you're a novice. with other games such as pokemon it completely takes any enjoyment out of it. the only cheat i ever used on pokemon was on an emulator, and it was hardly a cheat. basically it was a 'mod' that created a side-quest, in which you could catch Celebi. Minecraft and Terraria are also completely pointless to cheat on, as the goal of both games is to mine/gain your own materials to build and whatever.

I agree with you both. For GTA, as I said in the thread, I only cheat when I complete the game, but not even on the same save file, once I beat it I copy it to another slot and cheat on that one. For Minecraft there's no point in cheating since there's a creative mode where you have everything.
I want a new pc where I can play Minecraft without lag :l

Cheating in games can be fun, but like most people have already said...it makes the game more boring in the long run. You can spend tons of time on a game and enjoying yourself when you play legitimately. But once you cheat, you don't have to work for anything so nothing is as rewarding.

You also cheat to have fun after you complete the game, I mean, what else do you do when you complete GTA SA 100%? Put a Superman mod and start flying around was the answer for me :p

Yea, playing GTA on ps2 way back when....the flying car cheat was so awesome. lol
