Who here remembers me getting scammed for 3b not too long ago? You know, the thread I made crying and bitching about it. Well, since that incident I've been negative on my personal paypal account and haven't had the oppurtunity to pay what I owe in full. I intend on doing this eventually, and to do so I've been practically having my 'close' IRL friend take payments for me from my services. Everything went well, at least up until this point.
Now, I personally know this guy in real life. Hell, he only lives ~10 blocks away from me and we've known each other since middle school. Seems like a friend you could trust, yeah?
Yesterday, I was working out a deal with a client. It wasn't anything major, only a $40 transaction. After a bit of negotiation with the client, I had my friend send him an invoice with the amount due, which was paid as far as the client has told me. This was around midnight so, I soon went to bed and informed my client that his order would be completed within the morning hours. I then headed off to bed.
Next morning, which would be this morning I notify my 'friend' to check and see if the payment had cleared. He says he can't as he's heading off to another city soon, and then he went offline. Now, this city is only ~3 hours away yet it took him at least 7 hours to get back on skype, while the inevitable happened which being my client beginning to become irritated with the transaction process.
This friend, he finally manages to get on skype, even then not being aware of my messages for a good 30 minutes. After that he begins to claim he can't get on his paypal account nor his e-mail linked to the paypal to recover it.
This issue is still being worked out but I have a grand feeling that I've basically been fucked over, ruining a friendship all over $40, not even a days worth of employment at even minimum wage. I guess it shows to not even trust people whom you know in real life.
