i personally think dressing nice and having a good sense of style is important because your clothes are what a person sees first and if you dress like a bum then that might be off putting and lead less people to not want to interact with you, but those are just from past experiences my friends have had.

i 100% agree w/ this and your last post. all he does is wear supreme and people dickride the shit out of him

& on first post: i browse /r/streetwear to find cool brands and make people mad. i agree, and i am working towards only dressing for myself. it's kind of hard though bc i'm 1 out of 2 people at my hs who can dress, and everyone always looks at & compliments my fits.
 
I personally take inspiration from 70's mod culture or what ever seems like it would have been acceptable then but also acceptable now, Parka's, Skinny jeans.. probably what makes me sound like a faggot but I'm not a faggot.

I like Indie, punk, rock and band fashion.

whatever Morrissey would like also.

I also think you should dress with what makes you comfortable as that's your style and what gives you differentials to everyone else.. I don't think you should dress to suit other people, be yourself.
 
My style of clothing is pretty basic tbh, some skinny jeans, a polo sweater or nike windbreaker, a g shock and any shoes.

At my school, people think "well-dressed" means an ill-fitting button down from walmart with a cheapo tie along with any kind of shoe (mainly RUNNING SHOES LOL?) i.e. things you shouldn't wear with an Oxford.

before i graduated, everyone thought dressing well was considered wearing a nike tee shirt, lacrosse shorts, and the latest jordan drop

most of the kids at my school have terrible fits, but they get compliments cause they got the yeezys/bogo tees/shark hoodies on with them so all the broke boys go crazy
i feel like the hardest part of fashion is being able to accept how others will see your fits, and you gotta love them or dont wear them. peer pressure is a bitch.
