That's a sick GPU, a little overkill for current games, but brilliant. What're the specs of the rest of your build?

It's overkill at the moment yes, but it'll be worth it when I don't have to buy another for like 2-3 years.

Nice GPU man.
I see you were running idle and your CPU was 50 degrees.. you might want to invest in an aftermarket cooler and redo the thermal paste if you haven't done so in a while, should drop your temps by a nice chunk.
Also your RAM configuration, is it just on 16GB stick? or two 8GB's? you're running single channel which you really shouldn't be if you had two sticks of RAM. try moving one to it's pairing lane.
Other than that, nice setup man.

That screencap was just after running BF4 at mid graphics for about 2 hours. The only heat paste on there is what came with the CPU and that was put on less than 6 months ago.I have 2 8GB sticks, what do you mean move to the other pairing lane? Just move one of the sticks to a different slot?

I was going to say that's a bit hot for idle  but if that's after BF4 that's not bad at all. What CPU cooler do you have?

Yes move it to a different slot and reboot the PC and open Speccy, it should say your RAM is running dual channel.

Just the heat-sink and fan that came with my CPU, I usually keep my window open in my room so the air is pretty cold in here(50F/10C).

If you want to drop those temps more then you could always invest in the wonder that is the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo (check your mobo to see if it fits your socket)

Also did you switch your RAM around? things should speed up a little when in dual channel.

Yeah just moved it, I just noticed on my mobo that the slots are numbered. Pro-tips left, right, and center from you. Muchos gracias.

Running dual channel now?
No problem good sir, I'm hoping to bring a little bit of computer hardware knowledge to this part of the forum seeing as I've drifted away from buying and selling things.

Yeah it's running dual-channel now. If you don't mind, would you explain the difference?

Essentially, dual channel means that you have two channels/pathways for your CPU to access your RAM rather than one in single channel. It's kinda like having a 2 lane highway versus a 1 lane highway to drive on. Think increased space for data flow. More space, more data. It improves performance. Should see better multi-tasking speeds and a few more FPS on games. :)

Ok that makes sense, very similar to having a high band-width internet connection.

Kind of.
Dual channel just allows more processes simultaneously, thus helping with EVERYTHING that requires compute power, which is, well, anything.. :D
