DreamWeaver is a software to build your website. Its so easy to use you just need to write in simple words no HTML tags are required you just write as you write in MS word, Dreamweaver will automatically paste HTML tags. And most amazing you can create PHP site in this software too. So just download it and try. Try to download Dreamweaver8 and than PM me i will send you serial. Good luck.

Its so nice that you have already known about Dreamweaver. What kind of book do you have? Is this an e-book or hard copy?
 
I'm using it whem I'm editing html or CSS, it's easer to navigate in the code with DW.

You need a web server with PHP installed to create a site in PHP, I explained most of what's needed in this post.

Dreamweaver can edit PHP files (as can any other text editor), but a PHP environment like Zend Studio is more suitable for programming in PHP (it also has a PHP engine built into it to process PHP without the need for a server).
