Does anyone know how to remove scratches on a disk?

My nephew borrowed my Assassins Creed game, and took horrible care of it, and there is a tremendous ammount of scratches on it. Somehow, it still runs, but there's no way I can sell it with all those scratches on it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Tried toothpaste? I heard it works? Or try google

I tried Google, that's why I asked here. I didn't find anything on there that was of value.. How would I go about it using toothpaste?

No, any liquid you put on will damage it unless it's like the super expensive shit they use in shops.
A shop where I live does disc repairs, I don't know if it gets rid of scratches but if your game doesn't work they can fix the disk.

Brasso.
Shoe Polish.
Vaseline.
Eyeglass cleaner.
Any of the above products will work. Put a small amount on a clean, lint-free cloth and rub in a circular motion, starting from the center and working your way out.
If you use toothpaste, rub it onto the disk, way for it to try then wash off with warm water. Don't do this though as it can leave smudges and is generally less effective.

Thanks Sir Vant, and iStorm, I have already tried eye glass cleaner, it just made the scratches more visible.

If there's deep scratches, I don't think anything will be able to get rid of them.
A lot of faint scratches should be able to be removed though. I believe vaseline 'should' be a good substance to try, although I haven't tried it myself for cleaning disks.
Good luck though ^_^

Smear toothpaste on it. Then use rubbing alcohol to remove the toothpaste. Works pretty well for me

why would you wanna sell it? you would only get like 10 bucks..

At gamestop maybe.. My uncle said he would buy it for $40

I've tried rubing alcohol alone. That actually makes the games run better, but doesnt fix scratches any.

I found a video in Youtube about a guy using a banana, I found it very weird. I haven't tired that.
What I did once with my GTA IV: EfLC was that I took toothpaste and put it only where the straches are, and then I cleaned it out with water, my Xbox read the game again, I couldn't believe it.
But it also deepends if they are deep or not.

if it runs fine then he won't even notice the scratches

I'll got it to work better with toothpaste. Although, I used blue, not white.
