hello swaggers!

There are just too many poor related problems and poor people in this world. There are just too many donation request on the street and sometimes I really don't know if they are real or not.The news have shown us that there are just some kinds of big commission goes in to the pocket of the street donation personnel. It has becomes a job for many people and many their commission from helping the poor donation action. It seems like the purpose of helping the poor cannot be achieved if a large amount of money doesn't reach to the related benefit or the pocket of the poor . What do you think?

The best thing to do is give your money/donation directly to those orphanages or home for the aged and I am sure your money will surely goes to those concern people.
Or,you can buy things for them, for orphaned kids and distribute it yourself.

I never give any donation in malls, street or any people asking or using any organization.
I volunteer myself to help with charity works and medical mission.
We go place to place providing free medical check-ups and giving available drugs and vitamins donated by drug companie

Yes, giving directly to the poor i for sure one of the best way to help the poor. When talking about orphanages, I still remember what have I seen in the church video during one of our Sunday worship time. We were all so moved by what we have seen about the orphanages in China. It was just so terrible to see all the poor children locked up in poor institution where nobody would care for them and nit even hold them up .Thank God that we do have some Christian ministry open up a new place to help to feed the poor children and also provide education opportunity for them to receive higher education to University. We ere all moved when we saw those small kids grow up and received their university degree and loved by the staffs of the trustworthy organization with God's love. The government of China didn't really put too much money to help those orphanages and even they did, there are just too many orphans in China.I hope that someday I can help some of these poor children and share them with God's love and finance blessing as well.

yes but of course to help in a proper way not only to give them cash all time, a help that they can stand on their own feet on how to work to earn just like that. coz if u help them by giving cash they will feel lazy in that way and also depend of what they will receive to other

Well I do help the poor in my own little way. But I seldom give money. What I do is I give my old clothes to them. It has also been a family tradition of ours that every Christmas we shop for groceries for at least 20 families. We buy them soap, shampoo, coffee, milk, sugar, crackers, canned goods, and ingredients for spaghetti. We also do medical missions at the town where my dad grew up since my aunt is a doctor-nurse and she married a doctor too and I am a nursing student.

what a good family you have, full of doctors and nurses to help poor people, well all I can say is Godbless to your family :Scary-Smile:

you don't have to be well of enough to help the poor or less fortunate. even in your own little way you can extend your help to them.if you have enough blessings share some to those in need.

good day to you, yeah i already have experienced helping the poor people i give them food and donate some dress to wear and giving small amount of money, how good it be.its a pleasant feeling that we can help poor people.

many times i help those in need even if my resources is not much. i do it because my heart tells me so. many people suffer from poverty and its a sad thing that this is a world wide problem that up to now we cannot find solutions to end this. we are bound to help each other and hopefully by doing little things for the poor will eventually make way for us to think something bigger to help them in bigger ways.

I do help the person in a group through an organizational form. We have a NGO established by our frens. We conduct different programs in awareness for people, conduct training on employment generation, informal education classes and help the poor people . :)

I choose the person whom I am going to help. i prefer elders who are looking for food. Its better to give them food than money I mean if you are giving it to street people. For children I give them small amount. But I just do it sometimes not all the time. That is also seeding which you will harvest in the future. But help with an open heart.

Yes I have helped the poor, but I help in a different way. Most of those in the streets asking for money would say "please give me money to buy food". So what I always do, I bring some extra bread in the car so when they ask money for food, I will just give them bread instead.

My family also give donations in the form of rice, canned goods, new clothings, and a little amount of cash during Christmas season. We choose a charity or an organization deserving to give donations to.

Helping the poor is such a noble act. However, I guess it is still better to help them in a way that will lead them to permanently leave their status of being poor. I believe the best way to do it is to not give them what they need *money*, but to provide them means on how to get what they need *jobs*.

yes some time when walk on the foot path there we saw begger and ask for money or even food at that time use to give some coin to them only this is my experience.

Normally i help whatever way i can.. it doesn't need to be money.. when i was schooling i got one friend.. she got so many family problem and money problems.. so i used to get some extra foods for her from home and give to her.. and some books.. now shes good and always respect me and thanking me.. it really feels great..

Thats why Im careful about where I donate my money. I like the Salvation Army, ARC, and Goodwill. I also prefer to donate my time as well as items that we dont use or have outgrown. We give clothes and toys to Goodwill and ARC and our church does meals on wheels and volunteers at a local soup kitchen. There are plenty of ways to help without donating money.
