Anyways, today some asswipe reported me to my school principal and told him I was selling drugs which I did not. The principal then proceeded to search my locker and basically invaded my privacy which I did not appreciate, and he found nothing because I never sold drugs. I though this could be turned into a interesting debate topic:

Do school authorities have the right to search students’ lockers? - Without probable cause / evidence.

RE: Do school officials have the right to search students lockers ?

Yes, it's there property.

You give up most of your rights when you step onto school grounds as a student.

They can check under any circumstances. If they have a suspicion they can check your locker.

It isn't like police where they need a warrant.

I never hear people say, "I have a warrant to search your school locker."

I'm assuming your in highschool? The answer is yes they do have the right.
You give up a lot of rights walking into a school. The school has the right to search you and your locker.
Veronia v. Acton 1995 confirmed that drug testing could be used on athletes.
New Jersey v. T.L.O 1985 confirmed students have a reduced expectation of privacy in school.

Well in my school they can search your locker if they have your code, i never give the right code out, but i don't hold anything incrimination either so:p. But yes they can and if suppose they pulled you from class and said we have suspicion of weapons in your locker open it up, and they find drugs i don't think they can get you in trouble.

Also if they open it without you their you could fight it in court saying oh it wasn't mine or w/e:p

When you start school you get a bunch of papers in which you have to get those signed.

Pretty sure somewhere in those papers, it says that you agree about your locker is allowed to be searched at any time.

(For my school atleast)

School's lockers. You pay to attend, and use those lockers. So therefore I think they have all right.

>Implying anyone keeps anything private in your locker

When I was at school I just kept my P.E. kit there because DAMN that shit was heavy.

They absolutely have the right to search your lockers. It's their property, not yours.

Schools can do what they want for you are learning there.

End of story.
