Did the Trojan War really happen?

So yeah im reading the Iliad at the moment and i know that Homer existed but did the Trojan War really happen?
 
The Trojan war REALLY happened.
But of course it didn't happen because Helen was stolen, neither some kind of Trojan horse/gods/whatever involved in it.
