The biggest new in online action gameplay today is the trailer release of Counter Strike: Global Offensive. This comes soon after the head dude at Valve annouced that they have not put any thoughts into creating a "Counter Strike 2" and that their wanting to keep with Team Fortress 2 and Portal 2 for the time being.

So in 2012, 12 years after the release of the original Counter Strike, Global Offensive is planned to be released. Theres no official release date yet, but its definatly in my list of Must Buy games of 2012. The big question to ask is will the game be as sucessful as predecessor? The original Counter Strike obtained the title of the Worlds No1 Online Action Game. It seems very hard to achieve with the likes of Call of Duty etc.

Ok so back to the actual game. The most exciting feature of the new game is that it promises Cross Platform gameplay! If Valve follow through with this huge promise it would be amazing, finally a game that will let me play with someone on Xbox. This isnt the first time Valve have shown off this type of feature. Recently Steam annoucned that they would be sellng games to the Mac side of the computing World. This then allowed users on PC to play against the strange people who decided that they would buy a Mac for gaming.

Anyways, not much ingame details, but heres the trailer. Enjoy.

So you know only a true CS gamer can truely understand why this game is so epic.

BETA to be released some time as late as October :(

saw this on steam but tbh CS:S is entertaining enough for me

has there been any official release date on this yet? or at least any beta version downloadable?

Global Offensive is targeted for release the 21 August 2012. It will be available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation 3 via PlayStation Network. It will feature classic content, such as old maps, as well as brand new maps, characters and game modes.
