So I just wondered what people would think of this...
I'm 15, making enough money to afford the payment on a used car, the car I'm buying is a 2011 Jeep JK (wrangler unlimited) and its 37k, I'm putting 75% of my savings into it as a downpayment which is about $4000, the payments would probably be about $480 a month, I really have nothing else to spend my money on, I just wanted to know what peoples opinions of this were...heres the car i'm buying, http://www.billionauto.com/C-View-Used-Vehicle-2011-Jeep-WranglerUnlimited-11678

Are you going to be driving in the mountains or something?

yes, i live in south dakota in the black hills so, theres lots of trails to drive on + when winter comes this will be great...and it looks bad ass ;)

It does look really nice, and if you can afford it than buy it. I'm 16, and still don't have a car. Hopefully I'll be getting one soon.

I wouldn't personally $480 a month is quite a bit plus the intrest would add up to quite a bit. It also depends on how long the payments are you won't want to be paying $480 right when you go to college on top of the college fees.

For that much money you could get a nice ass benz or something like that...

How do you make that much money at 15? lol i make 000

I wouldn't go for that lol, the amount of money you have you can get a real snazzy car.

You go ahead and spend your money on whatever your little heart desires :)
I would advise to lower the payments however, because if something were to break or stop working you have the extra "just in case" money. As well as gas. I drive a jeep as well but its a compass so its super cheap to fill up.
Enjoy your cute new car op :)

I wish I bought a car at 15, I am 17 now waited a bit to get my license just got it last week, buying a 2004 Ram 1500 next month.

on a more irrelevant note.
If that's you in your avatar, Congrats on graduating!
My little brother just graduated as well... *Grabs kleenex*

Are you running a meth lab with your chemistry teacher? Damn

OP that's a terrible Idea, just wait until you can buy car outright or find a cheaper one. Taking on monthly payments (debt) at age 15 is the saddest thing i've ever heard.

I am a firm believer that first cars should not be over $10,000. I'm going to get a few knives at my throat, but I'll strike back my machete. Even if I were a self-made millionaire, I would purchase my children average first cars.

Let me make a quick assumption: You want that Jeep Wrangler far more than you need it. How do I know this you ask? Because you can purchase old(er) Jeeps for less than $10,000. Perhaps you want it to impress your friends, maybe the girl down the street? Or maybe you just want it to have it just so you can say, "Hey, I own $35,000 Jeep Wrangler."

Whatever the reason may be, do not put unneeded stress on yourself. Yes, a financing a car is stressful. Financing a $30,000+ car at 15 years old is even more so. You are just a young man, no need to have gray hair before your twenties.

Quick tip: Do not worry about what others may think of your first car. It's a first car for a reason. They're going to be the ones crying when they're driving their Honda Prelude and you're in a Porsche 911 Turbo S in ten years, or perhaps a badass lifted Jeep. I am not fronting the reason as to why you want to finance a car, just don't let the thoughts of others make you take a jump you're not willing to take.

Good luck, bud.

Go for it if have nothing else to spend your money on
