I am a firm believer that first cars should not be over $10,000. I'm going to get a few knives at my throat, but I'll strike back my machete. Even if I were a self-made millionaire, I would purchase my children average first cars.
Let me make a quick assumption: You want that Jeep Wrangler far more than you need it. How do I know this you ask? Because you can purchase old(er) Jeeps for less than $10,000. Perhaps you want it to impress your friends, maybe the girl down the street? Or maybe you just want it to have it just so you can say, "Hey, I own $35,000 Jeep Wrangler."
Whatever the reason may be, do not put unneeded stress on yourself. Yes, a financing a car is stressful. Financing a $30,000+ car at 15 years old is even more so. You are just a young man, no need to have gray hair before your twenties.
Quick tip: Do not worry about what others may think of your first car. It's a first car for a reason. They're going to be the ones crying when they're driving their Honda Prelude and you're in a Porsche 911 Turbo S in ten years, or perhaps a badass lifted Jeep. I am not fronting the reason as to why you want to finance a car, just don't let the thoughts of others make you take a jump you're not willing to take.
Good luck, bud.
