Buy-ins?

So are all the groups buy-ins now?
Are we even allowed to do that? lmfao nooby question is nooby.
I just feel like everyone is so quick to have group ownership,
but when they need quick money they sell spots in the group, then sell ownership.

Is there like a timeframe or...?
Example: If you made a transaction for a buy-in there is a 10-day period where the group owner can not sell the group to another.
(or customer can chargeback)

Just asking if I were to ever buy a spot in a group.

I see a lot of people complain about it (especially with awards) but I figured things were a bit differently when it comes to groups?
Lmk

I kind of think it's like people who buy awards to make them buy-ins, then sell them afterwards for profit. That's why I would never buy into a group. It should be something earned, like awards should be.

No hate to anyone, just my thoughts on it :")

I personally dislike buy-ins, I need money at the moment as college won't give me my EMA but I will not even consider doing buy-ins for immortals. Ever.

@"Meow" Yeah that's how I feel, and no worries this was reaching for opinions and feedback. I respect yours, thank you!
@Magic I feel ya, I'd never sell spots for wonderland or my awards, because I would be equally upset if I purchased something and just had it taken away.

Both my group and award are and won't ever be available to be bought into. I find it rather stupid since once they buy the group and/or award, they seem to think they are above the rules and requirements of the group or award. Also, on the other side of the coin it makes both things rather pointless and just becomes an investment for someone rather than an achievement. I hope less people will do it in the future.

I completely agree, I feel groups lose all credibility when they are made 'buy-in'. I mean, anyone can join the group, and I don't mean that only people with loads of rep should be able to join, I just mean that some person that has just joined and done nothing around the forum (upgrades, giveaways, etc). I hate seeing some guy with shit tons of stats join a group from writing one line, and a guy with half as good rep/posts write a paragraph and don't get into the group. And buy-in's are hard for people that don't have much money, they won't be able to meet the buy-in. By the way, what is happening with your award? I have noticed no-one has been granted it yet, when do you plan on granting people the award?

@Dissociation Appreciate the feedback. I've sensed that sort of attitude from some of the threads for buy-in awards / groups. It's actually 1/3 of the reason as to why I've never considered it. There are just so many now, which kind of sucks because you get all excited for this new group and once you get in... then what?

You basically are just paying for a userbar like a donor group basically. If you don't follow the rules in the group however, you get kicked and this causes people to consider the seller of the group/award as a scammer. It's a lot of un-needed drama and I wish buy-ins were completely shut down but of course that won't ever happen so it's one of those things you just gotta deal with and move on.

Yeah I understand, I just figured it didn't hurt to ask.
I've never seen someone open a scam report for someone who kicked them out or removed them from something after they paid for it.
I mean, if I pay $100 USD for a spot in a group (Which I will never do, ever) and the next day the owner sold the group?
Best believe I will be opening up a scam report.

Haha I want to open scam reports on awards sometimes as they tend to change owners to often, how can people make groups different though, host group giveaways, make awards just for group members? im thinking of doing some more stuff amongst immortal members, but not sure what to do, haha.

@Magic I mean, theres another issue.
A lot of people limit their cap on their groups. Now, what if Philly actually makes that 1000 post a month rule a thing?
What's the fun in hosting giveaways within your group when theres only 5-10 members?
Everyone is so worried about being "elite" but cry about their group being dead.

@"glitter milk" Depends on the person who owns the group as well, some people have kept there groups for ages and it has some form of meaning to them, example with me and Monster, never will sell, and I might do buy ins that include my Love award.

@monster I respect you and your awards/groups/decisions to keep them, but they haven't been around very long. (hopefully they stick around)
A lot of people in the past however had promised their word to never sell things they were allowing people to buy into, then turned around to sell them.

Those are more-so the people I'm referring to. You're right though, it does depend on the person.
what it really comes down to is, would I be wrong for opening up a scam report or charging back for something I had for only a few days?

When me and @Chill change our group, there is not going to be a buy-in, they are possibly the most LQ on the site and are just pointless in my opinion.

Well there are only 12 members in immortals, and not everyone posts in the sub-forum as people are busy, like jimmy is running another forum, greed is staff, etc. I don't know about this 1,000 posts per month thing though, and I agree about the elite thing, except I don't cry about the group being dead because I don't let it go inactive, I always start a conversation, and if it starts going inactive cause people are to busy, I will invite a few more people in that are worthy and active, I don't want a group that is all about stats, I want a group that I can enjoy, the giveaways would be slightly pointless in immortals as I couldn't giveaway stuff because everyone in the group tends to own really OG stuff, the only thing I can think about making a change in the group is a group award, which I am gonna do in the future, just unsure on what else I can do to make the group more unique.

My award has been around for a long time, not even sure when I bought it but I know it has been a long time. I would never sell my award, solely because the price you'd even get out of it is not worth it and in the end when people do that, they tend to either quit the forum or regret it in the future. Having something on a forum/site you enjoy makes it that much better in my opinion.

@Monster I hope you keep that promise, I'd like to see your group and award say around for a long time.

@"glitter milk" indeed it does I think it's justified to be able to, since your paying for something, it's like buying power+ and then getting removed.

I have no need for money I own 4 groups, I'll be doing a buy in for Monster + my award but not for self profit but to invest at ForumKorner cause I like buying groups from @philly so people aren't all "group less", when I do my sale for a spot into Monster I'll put in the TOS that if they get kicked out of the group for any reason besides breaking the rules they are free to open a dispute/scam report, my rules are always the same No open/valid scam report and a few others that aren't diffiul at all.

As long as you keep the Honey & Golden Egg awards, you're awesome.

I will never sell Trap. I did happen to accept koin buy-in's, but that was for 24 hours only.

If I ever buy an award, it's going to be a fun challenge you have to do. No buy-in's will be optional.

I will be selling buy-ins to mystic but not so I can just sell off the group, thats stupid. & if you buy in you still have to follow the rules. Plain & Simple.
