my specialty is more in laptops and just ordering what people need and changing a few parts to upgrade if need be
i need to learn how to build a working desktop with components that won't fail but are easy to change out for upgrades
i want to know what you guys' opinions are on what a good base to start is

Hey gunnar
Firstly,
What's your budget? (and what currency)
What do you want to do on the computer?
Does the size of the PC case matter?
Any particular colour scheme?
Do you want to have the CPU air cooled or Watercooled?
Need a bit more info before we can help :)

Oh my bad!

Just check out youtube for build logs and guides on how to build them :) in terms of what parts to choose, reviews will help that decision.
