Bought an xbox one, Need help.

I bought an xbox one today, and It doesn't work with my Hdtv. but, I don't wanna buy a new one. fml

anyone got any troubleshooting ideas? thanks

What do you mean it doesn't work? Does your TV take HDMI? Because that's what the x1 uses.

for some reason It won't work with my Tv's HDMI, my Bluray player works just fine with my tv.

the xbox works with my laptop screen though.

Maybe some things wrong with the HDMI cord, try a new one

I think either your HDMI port is wonky or you need a new HDMI cord in general. Does the blu-Ray player HDMI cable fit / work with your Xbox's ports? If that fixes the problem then it's your Xbox One's HDMI cable that's the problem. Doesn't sound like a TV issue. New HDMI's go for like $5 cheapest on eBay. Mostly free shipping. They're not terrible quality either, surprisingly.

I'm not very happy that I've to wait to use my Xbone,
but It's better than never being able to use it.

At least it isn't a hardware malfunction. That would've been such a bitch. Good to see you troubleshooted the problem & found the source. I've yet to buy an Xbox One for myself. Some day...
